Women's Leadership Starts at Home: When we think of preparing women for leadership, we often focus on professional programs. But true leadership starts at home. When I was offered the role of Head of Design at one of India's top lingerie brands, I questioned myself—despite 19 years in the fashion industry with Shoppers Stop, Pantaloons, FirstCry, and launching my own label. I felt the same fear I had as a child at my first swimming lesson. But with a nudge from my father, I took the leap—and today, swimming in open waters is one of my greatest joys. This kind of support—belief in our strength—must begin at home. The encouragement from family and loved ones gives women the confidence to take bold steps. Without this foundation, rising as leaders becomes much harder. True Inclusivity & the New Generation Stepping into leadership isn't easy. Do we truly support women through the mental and physical challenges it demands? Inclusivity isn’t just about gender—it’s also about recognizing mental health. Women are often judged for taking breaks for childcare, marriage, or self-exploration. True inclusivity means valuing their capabilities, not just external factors. Balancing multiple roles takes a toll, and we must acknowledge the mental load women carry. I've learned from my 15-year-old daughter and young colleagues that challenges once brushed aside are now openly discussed. The "Jenny Web Series" highlights inner child healing, showing how younger women prioritize emotional well-being. We must create spaces where this is not just accepted, but encouraged. To support women in leadership, we must go beyond traditional inclusivity. Different generations face different struggles, and real support means understanding them. Only then can we build a truly inclusive world where women thrive—both personally and professionally.
