Maithilee is a management consultant with over two decades of experience working with the C-suite of companies, from start-ups to US$ 10 Bn corporations, both global and Indian. At Thoughtworks Technologies, she leads the service offerings on Digital Strategy and Transformation, for the India & Middle East regions. As an independent consultant, she advised educational institutions and founders/ CXOs of start-ups, SMEs and large corporations on strategic visioning, strategy development, innovation management, business excellence, and business process restructuring.
Previously, Maithilee was at Mahindra & Mahindra, where she architected, established and anchored the Innovation Centre of Excellence at the Mahindra Group. In this role, she conceptualised and drove Group-wide initiatives for building an ecosystem that engenders innovation.
While at Mahindra, with the Group Strategy Office, Maithilee led strategic projects across several Group businesses, including automotive, farm equipment, logistics, financial services, agribusiness and hospitality. Her project repertoire includes the Marketing, Finance, Human Resource Development, Information Technology, and Procurement functions. She was instrumental in putting in place and institutionalising several frameworks on strategy, branding and innovation management, including the branding guidelines under the ‘Rise’ framework, particularly the online strategy for the Mahindra Group, the Balanced Score Card for business performance monitoring, and benchmarks to global best practices in topical areas.
Before Mahindra, Maithilee consulted at Kearney, a global strategy consulting firm, and CRISIL, India’s leading credit rating agency, in the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions. Her contributions spanned across industries including automotive, petrochemicals, real estate, infrastructure, IT and retail.
Maithilee is skilled in translating strategic priorities into operational level performance measures and targets for B2C, B2G and B2B businesses. Over the past decade and a half, she has honed her skills not only in the objective areas of strategic visioning, problem-solving and trendspotting, but also in the subjective aspects of mentoring-coaching, capability building, stakeholder alignment, and change management. Her vast exposure to a cosmopolitan and global work environment has afforded her the ability to work with people across hierarchies, industries and cultures to get things done.
Maithilee holds an MBA from Said Business School, University of Oxford, UK , and a Law degree from University of Mumbai, India. She is a post-graduate in Economics and Politics from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, India.
Maithilee serves as the Alumni Ambassador for Oxford Business Alumni in India and as a career counsellor with the Oxford Women’s Leadership Community. She has authored e-courses on Strategy as well as Work-Life Balance for corporate employees for OneHourLearning, an online education company. She has also served as Visiting Faculty on Strategic Management at the Indian School of Design & Innovation in Mumbai.
A practising yogini for over two and a half decades, Maithilee is a certified Yoga teacher from The Yoga Institute, Mumbai, as well as a Fitness Coach from the K11 Academy of Fitness Sciences. She is passionate about preventive healthcare and has conducted bespoke fitness workshops for college youth, expectant & new mothers, and middle aged groups.
She champions the cause of environmental sustainability through her community development work with a rural college in Maharashtra, where she serves as a Strategic Advisor and visiting faculty (http://devgadcollege.in/), and strongly believes in the need to revive ancient Indian wisdom and methods in day-to-day life, especially in health related areas.
