Deepak is a seasoned Data & Analytics leader with over 23 years of experience in Financial Services and Banking across geographies including a decade in UK and another decade in GCCs and last 3 years in Africa. Currently Group Head of Data & Analytics in the role of Chief Data Officer at pan-Africa bank Access Bank Plc driving group Data & AI strategy across 18 countries in Africa. Accomplished and result oriented Data & AI leader driving digital transformation by setting foundations in Data Management, Data Governance, Data Engineering and Data Sciences specialized in monetizing data through AI use cases and data products.
Previous stints include setting up of analytics, data science teams and scaling them to drive value at HSBC and Barclays UK and GE Capital. Throughout the data & analytics transformation journey known for driving results by embedding diversity and inclusion within teams from various cultures and diverse backgrounds. Member of EDM council and Fellow of Royal Statistical Society, UK. A continuous life-long learner with various Masters degrees from India in Computer Science, Statistics, Psychology, Business Administration and Risk Management and Doctorate, Honorary Doctorate in Computer Science, and currently a research scholar at Stellenbosch University, South Africa pursuing another Doctorate in Public and Development Management in the areas of Gender, Ethics, AI, Anti-Corruption and Financial Systems.
