Chitra is a machine learning engineer on Drishti’s Bengaluru-based engineering team. She brings a blend of academic and industry experience in computer vision, machine learning (ML), software engineering, and design thinking to solve hard problems in manufacturing.
Currently, she’s enjoying scaling up deep learning based model training & deployments, which perform action recognition for manual assembly processes, through her contribution to Drishti’s ML Operations, ensuring reliability and efficiency in production.
She studied computer science at PESIT Bengaluru and earned her MS in Visual Computing from Saarland University + Max Planck Institute of Informatics, Germany. She also has a strong penchant for product development through working with other startups including KiwiSecurity & Sensara.
With a keen interest in all things design, Chitra also has a background in UX and design thinking ignited at multiple MIT Media Lab India Design Innovation workshops. She picked up the fundamentals of entrepreneurship at EIT Digital’s Summer School in Eindhoven, Netherlands and tries to use her product design lens while approaching problems at Drishti.
Right from her undergraduate days, Chitra has been an active proponent of women in STEM. On weekends you can find her walking around with her camera honing her eye on the street.
